Την Τρίτη 21 Νοεμβρίου 2023 πραγματοποιήθηκε στις Σέρρες το τελικό συνέδριο του έργου “Flood Protection”, που διοργάνωσε η Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας ως επικεφαλής δικαιούχος του έργου. Στο συνέδριο παραβρέθηκαν και απηύθυναν χαιρετισμούς ο Αντιπεριφερειάρχης Σερρών κ. Παναγιώτης Σπυρόπουλος, ο Διοικητής της 2ης ΕΜΑΚ - Αρχιπύραρχος Αριστείδης Κατιρτζίδης- Αρχιπύραρχος, η κ. Galina Georgieva εκ μέρους της Διαχειριστικής Αρχής και της Κοινής Γραμματείας του προγράμματος ενώ το συντονισμό του συνεδρίου διεύθυνε ο κος Κωνσταντίνος Μιχαηλίδης – Γενικός Διευθυντής Εσωτερικής Οργάνωσης και Λειτουργίας της ΠΚΜ. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης παρουσιάστηκαν αναλυτικά οι παρεμβάσεις του έργου, τα συμπεράσματα από τις μελέτες που πραγματοποιήθηκαν για τις επιπτώσεις των παρεμβάσεων αυτών στη διασυνοριακή περιοχή και τα οφέλη που προέκυψαν σχετικά με την βελτίωση του επιπέδου αντιπλημμυρικής προστασίας στην διασυνοριακή περιοχή, ενώ θα διερευνηθούν οι προοπτικές σχεδιασμού και υλοποίησης περαιτέρω έργων αντιπλημμυρικής προστασίας στο πλαίσιο της νέας προγραμματικής περιόδου.

Η Τελετή λήξης του έργου “CapTour: An Initiative on Capitalizing Tourism’s prospects of the region” πραγματοποιήθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία Πέμπτη 9 Νοεμβρίου και ώρα 17:00 μ.μ στην αίθουσα Σαλτιέλ, στο κτίριο Μ2, του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Θεσσαλονίκης. Στην Τελετή Λήξης παρευρέθηκαν εκπρόσωποι των τεσσάρων δικαιούχων του έργου από την Ελλάδα και τη Βουλγαρία όπου παρουσίασαν τις δράσεις και τα αποτελέσματα του έργου. Στη συνέχεια ακολούθησε συζήτηση μεταξύ των παρευρισκομένων σχετικά με τις ευκαιρίες ανάπτυξης και τις νέες προκλήσεις που προκύπτουν στον κλάδο καθώς και επιπλέον ευκαιρίες δικτύωσης.

On October 9th, 2023 a conference on capitalizing on the results of the project "Agro-Tourism Business Academy - SME Support System", funded under the Cooperation Programme Interreg V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020", was held at the Santa Beach Hotel in Thessaloniki. The organizers of the conference brought together experts to discuss current trends and opportunities for tourism development in the cross-border region. The different forms of tourism, as an opportunity to develop a successful business, were the basis of the second Business Forum for Tourism, which was held on August 4 and 5 in Sandanski and Melnik. More than 50 participants in the event had the opportunity to learn first-hand how history, natural features and local life can combine in such a synergy to make a place attractive to people from different parts of the world. The Business Forum for Tourism held under the title "Opportunities, Perspectives and Good Practices" is the last of the four business events that the IN FOCUS Association held within the INNOBUS project of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020" and which gave the participants the opportunity to make contacts, find new business partners and plan joint business projects to implement in the future. On August 3, 2023, a business seminar on "Innovative entrepreneurship - good practices and trends for development" was held in Blagoevgrad. The event is part of the activities of the project "Strengthening the competitiveness and extroversion of cross-border business through the implementation of innovative and specialized actions", with the acronym INNOBUS, financed under the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020". Participants in the seminar were representatives of business, NGOs, youth, public and private organizations and institutions working to support entrepreneurship in the cross-border region. Over 60 business representatives, clusters, business centers and incubators, public and other organizations and institutions working to support business in the cross-border region, as well as young people - current and future entrepreneurs, participated in a two-day tourism business forum organized by IN FOCUS Association in Blagoevgrad, in the framework of the project "Strengthening the Competitiveness and Extraversion of cross-border business by implementing Inovative and Specialized Actions", with the acronym INNOBUS, of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020". The purpose of the forum was to promote successfully implemented business models by entrepreneurs in the cross-border region for stimulating the development of entrepreneurship, creating business partnerships and networking among all interested parties to achieve sustainable economic growth in the cross-border region. The event included speakers - successful entrepreneurs in the field of marketing, ICT and European programs who have developed their entrepreneurial ideas into successful businesses. The final conference for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Innovation in the Cross-Border Area of the Co-Working project, entitled “Enhancing Business Innovation in the Cross-border Region: Lessons, Challenges and the Contribution of Local Institutions”, was organised by the Αlexander Innovation Zone, Lead Beneficiary of the project. The conference was held on Friday, July 7th, 2023, at the Municipal Council Hall of Thessaloniki, with a dynamic “presence” from representatives of universities, professional and business organisations and local authorities of the cross-border area of Greece and Bulgaria. An important addition to the work of the Conference, which highlights the contribution of similar projects in strengthening entrepreneurial innovation and start-ups in the cross-border region, was the presentation of 3 of the business ideas by their own initiators, who participated in the seminars of the programme. On Saturday 1st of July, the Municipality of Lagadas, organised the 2nd Cultural Festival "Together we build cross border culture" in the framework of the project RENOVATION of the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Buglaria 2014-2020". The festival was organised jointly by the 3 Project Beneficiaries, it was held in the square and the cultural center of Sohos, Municipality of Lagadas, and it included folklore music and dances performed by Bulgarian and Greek folklore groups. Following the traditional performances, a concert took place in the Cultural Center of Soho. The title of the concert was “From Black Sea to all over the world: A tribute to Kostas Varnalis’ poems set to music”, organised by the Municipality of Lagadas. On the 5th of July 2023, District Administration of Smolyan (PB7) organized the 7th project meeting of the strategic project “Cross Border Planning and Infrastructure Measures for Flood Protection” with acronym “FLOOD PROTECTION» of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V - A "Greece - Bulgaria 2014 - 2020", in Smolyan. In the 7th project meeting the beneficiaries had the chance to discuss the progress of the project, the necessary steps for the closure of “Flood Protection” and proposals for new project towards the forthcoming call of Interreg VI-A “Greece – Bulgaria 2021-2027” which are related to flood protection. The meeting was also attended by the Regional Governors of District Administration of Blagoevgrad, Kardzhali and Smolyan and the Project Officer Mrs. Georgieva Galina from the Joint Secretariat of the Cooperation Programme Interreg V –A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.

Delivery of equipment from the Region of Central Macedonia to the Fire Brigade for flood management, as part of the project “Flood Protection”.
On Monday the 19th of June 2023, the Governor of the Region of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, handed over equipment for the optimal response to flood incidents to the 2nd Special Unit for Disaster Management (EMAK) and the Fire Brigade. The event was held in the premises of the 2nd EMAK in the airport base of Sedes in Thessaloniki. The equipment is financed through the Strategic Project "Flood Protection" of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Interreg INTERREG VA "Greece - Bulgaria 2014 - 2020", where the Region of Central Macedonia participates as Lead Beneficiary.

Τη δεύτερη ανοιχτή Συνέντευξη Τύπου πραγματοποίησε η Πανελλήνια Ομοσπονδία Ξενοδόχων για την ανακοίνωση των δράσεων που θα υλοποιηθούν στο πλαίσιο του έργου “CapTour: An Initiative on Capitalizing Tourism’s prospects of the region” του Προγράμματος Συνεργασίας INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020", την Τετάρτη 14 Φεβρουαρίου 2023, στο Imperial Port | Convention Club Thessaloniki στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Ο πρόεδρος της ΠΟΞ κ. Γρηγόρης Τάσιος και οι υπεύθυνοι του έργου ανακοίνωσαν την έναρξη τεσσάρων συναντήσεων καινοτομίας, διαφόρων θεματικών σχετικά με την καινοτομία, την εξωστρέφεια και την Εταιρική Κοινωνική Ευθύνη. Οι συναντήσεις αυτές θα λάβουν χώρα σε διαφορετικές ημερομηνίες και μπορούν να συμμετέχουν σε αυτές εκπρόσωποι από εταιρίες που δραστηριοποιούνται στον τομέα του Τουρισμού, καθώς και σπουδαστές και απόφοιτοι χρηματοοικονομικών, λογιστικών και τουριστικών σχολών.

On Saturday 27th of May, the Community Centre "Yane Sandanski-1928" - Hadzhidimovo, organised in the framework of the project RENOVATION of the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Buglaria 2014-2020" the Cultural Festival "Together we build corss border culture". The cultural festival was held in the newly renovated building of the Community Centre, it included folklore traditions, music, dances performed by Bulgarian and Greek folklore groups. The festival was organised jointly by the 3 Project Beneficiaries.

The final conference of the E.VE.CR.I. project was held succesfully on April 10 in the city of Blagoevgrad. During the event, the data and analyses of the project were presented. Over 30 charging stations for electric cars are under construction, and 12 have already been built within the cross-border Bulgarian-Greek project E.VE.CR.I. Each of the points can be found in the created mobile application, which provides the user with information about the type of station - how much wattage is the charging, from which network it is and the type of cables to be used. More than 130 small and medium-sized businesses were involved in the cross-border Bulgarian-Greek project E.VE.CR.I.

In the framework of the project "Βusiness of Κnowledge and Ιnnovation in the primary and related secondary sector" (Bu4 Inno) the Business Incubator - Gotse Delchev organised with success on the 30.03.2023 in Gotse Delchev, a seminar on Innovation, Diversification and Sustainability of SMEs in Agriculture and Food Sector, which was attended by representatives of companies from the agriculture and food sectors from the cross border area of Bulgaria and Greece. Experts of the Business Incubator - Gotse Delchev and the National Agricultural Advisory Service presented current topics such as development prospects, support opportunities, sustainable agriculture, climate change and organic agriculture.

Virtual exhibitions - modern tools to promote the extroversion of agri-food products
The use of modern digital tools to promote the extroversion of the agri-food sector was highlighted at an event held on Monday for the presentation of the first pilot virtual exhibition GoInt Virtual FoodExpo, which will take place on 24-28 February 2023.GoInt Virtual FoodExpo will take place at the link and will host companies in the agrifood sector from Greece and Bulgaria.
This action is part of the GoInt project which is implemented in cooperation between the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, in the framework of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”.

Business Incubator - Gotse Delchev successfully organised the interactive workshop "Entrepreneurship and Digital Marketing" on 14 December 2022, in Gotse Delchev. Young people up to 29 years old from Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Haskovo and Kardzhali regions participated in the workshop whose aim was:
- the development and enhancement of entrepreneurial skills and knowledge of digital marketing for food, agriculture a nd new technologies of young people;
- the stimulation of young people to use digital marketing to build successful business development strategies;

The project „My Caves“ (full title: „Modernization, promotion and exploitation of caves“) participated with its own stand at the 10th annual "Municipal EXPO" Exhibition (23-25 October in the Albena resort complex.). The exhibition was organized by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria. In parallel with the exhibition was also held the largest forum of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria - the annual meeting of local authorities in the country.

Project eOUTLAND took part in the AIGIS2022 – 11th Cooperation Training Event that took place from 07.10.2022 to 09.10.2022 in Thermi, Greece. The event was organized by the Municipality of Thermi, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, the Hellenic Federation of Civil Protection Volunteer Organizations and the Network for the operational Support and Education of the volunteers’ Associations in the field of civil protection against natural disasters – NSEA (eOUTLAND’s Leader Beneficiary), with the support of Thermi and Mikra Civil Protection Volunteers. The Training Event had registered more than 300 Civil Protection Volunteers from more than 20 different Civil Protection Volunteer Organizations. During the event, various drills of different content in different places around Thermi were conducted, including Search of Missing Person, Forest Fire, Car Accident, Building/School Evacuation, Victim Transport, First Aid etc., while everything was broadcasted live on mega screens in the Training Camp premises.

The project "Accelerating the introduction of blockchain technologies" (with acronym "DLTech UP") of the CP Interreg VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020" was presented at the national conference on smart agriculture "AGRO 4.0 - A look into the future". The event was organized by AGRO Hub.BG and was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Bulgaria on September 29th, in Plovdiv. More than 120 representatives of technological companies, universities, farmers, local initiative groups from the South Central Planning Region and branch associations from the agricultural sector participated in it. The conference focused on the role of new technologies in agriculture, the digital future of agribusiness, precision and smart agriculture, blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, computers and electronics in agriculture – these are just a few examples of topics that were discussed at the conference. The participants had the opportunity to share their views and ideas and improve their knowledge about modern technologies for increasing the productivity of industries.

On September 8th 2022, Association ZDRAVETS held an international conference in the village of Trigrad. The conference was dedicated to the richness of Rhodope herbs and their sustainable use by business and the local community. The conference was organised in the frame of the FLOREO project, funded by the Cooperation Programme INTERREG VA "Greece – Bulgaria 2014-2020". It was attended by a total of 71 participants, including representatives of the Bulgarian public administration - the municipalities of Devin and Smolyan, Smolyan Regional Government, represented by the Deputy Regional Governor Hristo Stanchev, Georgi Pamporov from the Regional Tourist Association Rhodopes, representatives of local associations and schools, representatives of the business community.

In the framework of the project Go International (GoInt) of the CP Interreg VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”, the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) participated with 15 SMEs in the international specialized AGRO-FOOD exhibition AGROMASHOV 2022 that took place on September 5-6, 2022, at Jerusalem, Israel. The Agromashov 2022 is an international event in the field of fresh agricultural products and agricultural technologies, and was held for the 31st time.

The team of the project CREATIVE HUB carried out the opening event in Bulgaria which took place in Blagoevgrad on the 28th of June. Representatives of the target groups and other stakeholders showed great interest in the event. About 100 participants attended the opening event where the project activities and services were presented. Many of the participants expressed interest to participate in the next project events - "FASHION INFO DAYS" for presenting the fashion trends in women's clothing next year, "FASHION REVIEWS" with a competitive form in which young designers will present their fashion collections. The best collections will be presented to fashion companies that have their own brand or aim to create their own brand and have ambitions to develop their business at an international level. Many fashion/textile companies and designers expressed interest to benefit from the consulting services to be provided within the project.

Project E.VE.CR.I of the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020" is organising a series of round table meetings during which experts and local stakeholders will discuss how small, and medium enterprises in southwestern Bulgaria and northwestern Greece will develop with the help of e-mobility.
On June 21, 2022 the meeting will start at 15.30 at the House of Technology of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Smolyan, at 44 Bulgaria Blvd. On June 22, 2022 the meeting will start at 10.30 at the Administrative Building of Zlatograd Municipality.On Thursday, June 23, 2022, the meeting will take place in Xanthi from 5pm to 8pm.

The Hellenic Fashion Industry Association (SEPEE), beneficiary of the co-funded Project CREATIVE HUB, hosted the 1st Fashion Trends Seminar on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at 13.00-15.00. The event took place in the Excelsior Hotel in Thessaloniki, with the participation of more than 50 designers from fashion SME’s from Greece and Bulgaria. The new Historical Museum of Petrich, Bulgaria was inaugurated on Thursday 26 May, marking the completion of the project “Cultural Dipole” of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG VA “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”. At an official ceremony, the inaugural ribbon was cut by the Mayor of Petrich Mr. Dimitar Bratchkov, the Mayor of Serres Mr. Alexandros Chrysafis and the director of the Historical Museum Mr. Metodi Biserkov. Present at the ceremony were officials from the Municipality of Serres, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Democritus University of Thrace, which are project beneficiaries, whereas the Bulgarian European Commissioner Mrs. Maria Gabriel addressed a video greeting.

The final events of the project eTOURIST of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020” were organized in Alexandroupolis, Greece from 25 to 27 May 2022. The participants were acquainted with the achieved results of the project; gastronomic and wine routes of the region were presented to them, as a key tool for the perspective of cross-border development, complementing the attractions of southern Bulgaria and northern Greece, established as a factor in the development of the tourism sector. The project explored the natural and cultural heritage and traditional foods and wines of the Haskovo and Evros districts, which can be read on the interactive digital web portal "Cultural and Natural Heritage of Haskovo-Evros": https://www.maritza-evros.eu/ & https://etourist.dimossin.gr/.Through the portal, an application with routes and information about cultural and natural sites of the territory of the two border areas can be downloaded to any mobile device. The application also offers many interesting facts about traditional cuisine and wine, typical for the regions of Haskovo and Evros.

The Museum of Contemporary Art "Constantin Xenakis" Gallery in Serres was inaugurated on Saturday May 14 2022, with a brilliant ceremony by the Minister of Culture and Sports Ms. Lina Mendoni and in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Mr. Costas Karamanlis, the General Secretary of Contemporary Culture Ms. Eleni Doundoulaki, officials and a crowd of people.
The Gallery is housed in a listed building of the former Papaloukas camp, now the "Konstantinos Karamanlis" Culture Park, which was transformed into a modern museum space, almost energy independent and friendly to people with disabilities. The Gallery was co-funded by the Coopeation Programme INTERREG V-A "Greece - Bulgaria 2014-2020" through the project "Creation of a cultural dipole in the cross-border area - Cultural Dipole" and by funds of the current Municipal Authority.

The Small Enterprises’ Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals Craftsmen and Merchants (IME GSEVEE) organized an open event titled: “Infoday for Business in the Agrofood Value Chain”, on Sunday 3/04/2022, during DETROP BOUTIQUE 2022 Fair, in the framework of the project «AGROFFICIENCY».
The main aim of the event was the information of the enterprises acting in the agri-food chain, but also of the general public, on the goals, actions, and expected results of AGROFFICIENCY project.
All participants stressed the lack of extroversion and competitiveness of the vast majority of agri-food companies in the joint cross-border area of Greece - Bulgaria despite the existence of a huge number of high quality agri-food products. Moreover, the 2 countries are still far behind in issues dealing with the promotion of circular economy.
Based on the above, the urgent need for the development and implementation of innovative consultant tools to support green entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector was highlighted by all participants.
The main aim of the event was the information of the enterprises acting in the agri-food chain, but also of the general public, on the goals, actions, and expected results of AGROFFICIENCY project.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Dimitrios Vlachos, President of the Greek Association of Supply Chain Management. The Youth Forum 21st Century - Project Beneficiary of the project EnvironmentYou funded by the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020" - completed successfully a series of training seminars on the topics of: European and national environmental legislation, green economy, green entrepreneurship and environmental management systems in agricultural enterprises. The workshops were held in the town of Smolyan on November 29 and 30 and in the town of Bansko on December 2 and 3. The format of the events was hybrid and were attended by over 40 participants in person and via an online platform. On Wednesday 13 October 2021, "The Smile of the Child" – Lead Beneficiary of the project "Integrated Territorial Synergies for Children Health & Protection II - INTERSYC II" of the CP INTERREG VA “Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”, organized in Komotini the final Conference to present the results of the project. During the conference, the project beneficiaries, which consists of a comprehensive set of activities aimed at improving the quality of life of children in cross-border areas, with the intention to develop means to protect children at risk and improve the level of Health and Social Care Services for children. In the period 23-25 September 2021 an international study visit for exchange of good practices in environmental management, eco-agriculture and youth entrepreneurship was organised in Smolyan by the Youth Forum 21st Century Association. The visit was realized within the project “Environmental management enhancement by Youth-run SMEs” (EnvironmentYou), funded by the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020". The construction of the BCCP “Rudozem-Xanthi and an access road” has been completed, with the financial support of the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020", in the framework of the strategic project CROSSBO - Aiming at Improving Cross - Border Accessibility.
The President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, and the acting Prime Minister, Stefan Yanev, visited and inspected the BCCP “Rudozem-Xanthi”. After getting acquainted with the work done on the spot, they both praised the project and the construction of the completed site. A 72-hour test and acceptance of the checkpoint by a state acceptance commission is forthcoming in order to put it into operation. After delivery of equipment and furniture, the employees of the Customs Agency, GD Border Police and the Greek border guards will have all the necessary working conditions.
The object consists of two sub-projects (Road II-86 and BCCP) located on a territory with a total area of 76 decares

Euroregion Nestos-Mesta in the framework of the project "EnvironmentYou - Environmental Management Enhancement by Youth-runed SMEs" successfully organized the first in face-to-face International Exchange Study Visit in Drama on the 25th of June 2021. The study visit focused on the application of circular economy model in activities related to the agricultural sector. The agenda included field trips and scheduled visits to local agricultural enterprises where the circular economy-practices are applied in production and processing processes by recirculating all raw materials without generating waste outputs. Στο σεμινάριο παρευρέθηκαν εκπρόσωποι των κοινωνικών υπηρεσιών τοπικών φορέων, δήμων, νοσοκομείων, μη κυβερνητικών οργανισμών και συλλόγων και στόχευε, αφενός στην ενημέρωση των εκπροσώπων των φορέων για τις παρεχόμενες υπηρεσίες της Ευρωπαϊκής γραμμής για τα Εξαφανισμένα Παιδιά 116000, με σκοπό την αξιοποίησή της από όσο το δυνατόν περισσότερους φορείς και τη βελτιστοποίηση της συνεργασίας τους με «Το Χαμόγελο του Παιδιού» και αφετέρου στη μεταφορά τεχνογνωσίας στους παρευρισκομένους για τη διαχείριση περιστατικών εξαφάνισης ανηλίκων και ενηλίκων με την χρήση εργαλείων, όπως το Missing Alert App. Δείτε εδώ το δελτίο τύπου.

Στη συνέντευξη Τύπου που πραγματοποιήσε τη Δευτέρα 12 Ιουλίου το έργο VineSOS: «SOS για τις παραδοσιακές ποικιλίες αμπέλου που απειλούνται με εξαφάνιση» του Προγράμματος Συνεργασίας Interreg V-A «Ελλάδα-Βουλγαρία 2014-2020», παρουσιάστηκαν τα αποτελέσματα της έρευνας πάνω στις τοπικές ποικιλίες αμπέλου οι οποίες παραγκωνίστηκαν εξαιτίας της επέλασης διεθνών ποικιλιών, ωστόσο αξίζει να διασωθούν αφού παρουσιάζουν ενδιαφέροντα ποιοτικά χαρακτηριστικά και για τον λόγο αυτό καταγράφηκαν σε ένα Αμπελογραφικό βιβλίο.

On 13th and 14th May, three events were held in the Bulgarian cities of Haskovo, Svilengrad and Harmanli, regarding the presentation of an Ampelographic book under the project “SOS for endangered traditional vine varieties“, under the Cross-border Cooperation Programme “INTERREG V-A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020”. The published book contains an ampelographic description of the local endangered vine varieties identified by the project, in the cross-border region of Greece-Bulgaria.

The Minister for Development & Investment, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, attended the delivery ceremony of a new Mobile Medical Unit (Ambulance) of Neonatal & Pediatric Intensive Care, to the Organization "The Smile of the Child" on Wednesday 23 December 2020. The new Unit will be used for the transfer of new-borns and children in northern Greece, thus strengthening the National Health System and substantially contributing to the fight against Covid-19. The New Mobile Unit was acquired within the framework of the project "Integrated Territorial Synergies for Children's Health and Protection II (INTERSYC II)" of the Cooperation Programme Interreg V - A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020".

On 2 October 2020 in Madan town, Republic of Bulgaria was held the Opening event for the promotion of the activities under the project “Sustainable Eco-Cultural Valorization of Mines and Quarries Sites in the Cross-Border Area” (Terra-Mine), implemented under the CP INTERREG V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020".
The central idea of the current project was presented through the conducted event, namely: the valorisation of the mines and quarries of the cross-border area of Greece – Bulgaria and their transformation from places of traditional crafts and professional activity, to attractive and operational visiting places, for the local population as well as for visitors.

At the beginning of June 2020, pilot medical examinations were performed for the first time with the specialized mobile medical station, equipped under the Project SMART_MED of the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020", in two of the villages in Dimitrovgrad municipality (Dobrich village and Krepost village). 7200 medical examinations will be implemented on the territory of Dimitrovgrad Municipality till September, 2021.

The General Hospital of Komotini "Sismanogleio" (LB of the project MEDICINET II) received the Gold Award at the Healthcare Business Awards 2019 for the results of the project MEDICINET II, implemented under the CP INTERREG VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020". The ceremony took place on the 2nd of October 2019 in Athens.
The General Hospital of Komotini received the Gold Distinction in the category Quality of Services under the pillar of Hospitals - Private Clinics - Diagnostic Centers, having implemented for the last 26 months targeted actions with tangible results, contributing substantially in the improvement of the health services provided in the cross-border area of Greece and Bulgaria. In the framework of the project MEDICINET II, the hospital's main operating rooms were renovated and numerous educational activities were organised for the hospital's staff and the local population.

On the 3rd of December 2019, the Regional Governor of Kardzhali, Mr. Nikola Chanev, held an official opening ceremony for the restored protective dike on the Krumovitsa River at the entrance of Krumovgrad. The construction works were part of the FLOOD PROTECTION project, implemented with EU funds under the Cooperation Programme INTERREG VA "Greece - Bulgaria 2014-2020". The dike's function is to protect the Momchilgrad - Krumovgrad road from the high waters of the river, which flooded farmland and threatened to cut off the road.
On the 2nd of December, the 5th Project Meeting of the project took place, which was also attended by the President of the National Assembly, Tsveta Karayancheva, who congratulated the partners and emphasized that the project is of utmost importance for the quality of life and improvement of the infrastructure in the border regions. Such large-scale investments are proof of the direct benefits of the European solidarity.

On 16.10.2019 was the last day of trainings on the topic "Implementation of European Union good practices" that took place at the new training centre of the Prosperity and Development for Bulgaria Association, Blagoevgrad. A joint Bulgarian-Greek group of experts in the wine industry, administration and media worked together on problems with endangered local vine varieties and global conservation approaches. The participants of the event had the opportunity to work, to exchange experience and knowledge, with which they could help to preserve the endangered local vine varieties typical for the Cross-border region Bulgaria-Greece. The trainings were organised in the framework of VineSOS project under the CP Interreg V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020".

The Municipality of Thermi organized the final open event to present the results of the project “Actions for the Support and Enhancement of Social Entrepreneurship at Local Level” and the acronym “ACT SOCIAL” implemented under the INTERREG V-A "GREECE – BULGARIA 2014-2020" Cooperation Programme by the Municipality of Thermi as the Lead Beneficiary in cooperation with partners from Bulgaria. The event took place on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in the Cultural Center of New Redestos and was welcomed by the Mayor of Thermi, Mr. Theodoros Papadopoulos, representatives of the beneficiaries and a representative from the Joint Secretariat of the Greece-Bulgaria Programme .

A very successful 2-day cultural Festival in Amfipoli has been implemented within the project Borderless Culture of the CP INTERREG V-A "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020", on 24-25 August 2019. The Festival was organised by the Ministry of the Interior (Sector Macedonia and Thrace) with the support of the Municipality of Amfipoli and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, along with the participation of the project partners. The Festival's Agenda included two Music and Dance nights with the participation of traditional dancing associations of Greece and Bulgaria, music performances, as well as a Cultural Info-Day in Rodolivos (Sunday morning)

The retaining wall of Dr. Peter Beron Street in Smolyan opened officially on the 26th of July 2019. The work on the site was implemented under the strategic project "Cross-border Planning and Infrastructure Measures for Flood Protection“ (acronym "Flood Protection") of the INTERREG V-A Greece-Bulgaria Cooperation Program 2014-2020, and is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national contributions of Bulgaria and Greece.

Με ευρεία συμμετοχή των ενδιαφερομένων πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 13 Μαΐου, στην Αλεξανδρούπολη, η Συνέντευξη Τύπου και το Στρογγυλό Τραπέζι με θέμα «Εκπαιδευτικό Πρόγραμμα στην Κοινωνική Επιχειρηματικότητα», το οποίο εντάσσεται στις δράσεις του Έργου “Support of Social Enterprises Development and Enhancement of Employment / SoSEDEE” του Διασυνοριακού Προγράμματος Συνεργασίας Interreg V-A Greece Bulgaria 2014-2020. Το Έργο αποτελεί συνεργασία του Δήμου Gotse Delchev στη Βουλγαρία, των Παιδικών Χωριών SOS Ελλάδος και του ΤΕΙ Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας και Θράκης και έχει ως στόχο την ενίσχυση της απασχόλησης ατόμων που ανήκουν σε ευάλωτες κοινωνικές ομάδες και διαμένουν στη διασυνοριακή περιοχή του Προγράμματος. Η εκδήλωση πραγματοποιήθηκε με τη συνεργασία και υποστήριξη της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Έβρου και του Επιμελητηρίου Έβρου.

During the period of 4th and 5th of May 2019, and in the framework of the project "Borderless Culture" (CP Interreg VA "Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020"), the international folk festival „Balkan games” gathered hundreds of inhabitants and guests at the "Macedonia" square in the city of Blagoevgrad. An attractive procession of traditional bulgarian costumes announced the start of the Balkan games at the central streets of the city with parade of dance, vocal and Kukeri's groups from Bulgaria and Greece. The Festival was full of activities, including educational and entertainment games for young and old balkanians, parades, festival performances, combined with curious craft demonstrations, exciting games and entertainment for every age, showing the ethnocultural rhythm of the Balkans.

Ο Δήμος Σερρών, ως επικεφαλής εταίρος του έργου “Πράσινες θέσεις εργασίας στη διαχείριση βιοαποβλήτων (“Green” employment in the management of biowastes) και ακρωνύμιο Green Crew, το οποίο συγχρηματοδοτείται από το Πρόγραμμα V-A INTERREG Ελλάδα-Βουλγαρία 2014-2020, ολοκλήρωσε με επιτυχία τη δράση “ΈΞΥΠΝΗ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ” με βασικό στόχο την ενημέρωση των συμμετεχόντων για τον τομέα της κοινωνικής οικονομίας και της διαχείρισης των βιοαποβλήτων μέσω της κοινωνικής επιχειρηματικότητας.
Η εκπαιδευτική εβδομάδα περιελάμβανε παρουσιάσεις εκπροσώπων του Δήμου Σερρών, εξειδικευμένων επιστημόνων σε θέματα διαχείρισης αποβλήτων, καθηγητών από το ΤΕΙ Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας καθώς και ομιλίες μελών Κοινωνικών Συνεταιριστικών Επιχειρήσεων (Κοιν.Σ.Επ) τόσο από τις Σέρρες όσο και από τη Θεσσαλονίκη.

1,066 children had free of charge medical examinations from 04.03.2019 to 29.03.2019 through the action of preventive medicine/ dentistry, which takes place in the Municipalities of Komotini, Maroneia-Sapes and Iasmos in the framework of the project “Integrated Territorial Synergies for Children Health and Protection II” - INTERSYC II '.
The action of preventive medicine / dentistry, which is ongoing and will last up to 04.06.2019, is staffed by specialized scientific staff: doctors, social workers, nurses, administrative staff and external collaborators. Free Preventive Exams are conducted using the Multi-medical unit "Hippocrates", which includes the Otorhinolaryngologic, Cardiology, Pediatric, Ophthalmologic and Dental Department, and the Mobile Medical Units of the Organization "The Smile of the Child" also.

«Φόρουμ Συνεργασίας Φορέων και Επιχειρήσεων της Κοινωνικής Οικονομίας για την προώθηση συμφωνιών» στο πλαίσιο του έργου «Action Plan for Social Entrepreneurship» (CP INTERREG V-A 'GREECE – BULGARIA 2014-2020')
Η κατάρτιση και η συμβουλευτική φορέων και επιχειρήσεων της κοινωνικής οικονομίας τέθηκε στο επίκεντρο του ενδιαφέροντος στο Φόρουμ που συνδιοργάνωσαν η Περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας και το Περιφερειακό Ταμείο Ανάπτυξης Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας στη Θεσσαλονίκη, στην προσπάθειά τους να συμβάλουν στην ανάπτυξη της Κοινωνικής και Αλληλέγγυας Οικονομίας (Κ.ΑΛ.Ο.).
Στην εκδήλωση συμμετείχαν φορείς και επιχειρήσεις της κοινωνικής οικονομίας, που είχαν την ευκαιρία να ανταλλάξουν εμπειρίες από καλές πρακτικές, να αναπτύξουν δικτυώσεις, προτάσεις και συμφωνίες, αλλά και ενδιαφερόμενοι που βρίσκονται σε διαδικασία έναρξης μιας ΚΟΙΝ.Σ.ΕΠ., οι οποίοι ενημερώθηκαν για τις δυνατότητες, τις ευκαιρίες και τα προβλήματα.

Ξεκινάει σήμερα, 6/05/2019, η δράση “ΕΞΥΠΝΗ ΕΚΠΑΙΔΕΥΣΗ” που οργανώνει ο Δήμος Σερρών στο πλαίσιο υλοποίησης του έργου “Πράσινες θέσεις εργασίας στη διαχείριση βιοαποβλήτων – Green_Crew” του Προγράμματος Συνεργασίας INTERREG V-A Ελλάδα-Βουλγαρία 2014-2020, με στόχο την ενημέρωση των συμμετεχόντων για τις επιχειρηματικές δυνατότητες, οι οποίες απορρέουν από την αξιοποίηση των “πράσινων” αποβλήτων.
Η εκπαιδευτική εβδομάδα περιλαμβάνει παρουσιάσεις εκπροσώπων του Δήμου Σερρών, εξειδικευμένων επιστημόνων σε θέματα διαχείρισης αποβλήτων, καθηγητών από το ΤΕΙ Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας καθώς και ομιλίες μελών Κοινωνικών Συνεταιριστικών Επιχειρήσεων(Κοιν.Σ.Επ) τόσο από Σέρρες όσο και από Θεσσαλονίκη. Κατά τη διάρκεια της δράσης ,θα πραγματοποιηθεί επίσκεψη στην Μονάδα Επεξεργασίας Απορριμάτων και στον ΧΥΤΥ Παλαιοκάστρου Σερρών και σε εταιρεία εκμετάλλευσης λυμμάτων και γεωργικών προϊόντων, η οποία εδρεύει στη Νιγρίτα Σερρών.

With great success was realized on 17th-21th December 2018, in Kavala (Greece), the first cycle of the "Social Entrepreneurship" educational program, in the framework of the Project “Support of Social Enterprises Development and Enhancement of Employment / SoSEDEE” (Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020). The educational program was organised by the Department of Business Administration of Technical Institute of East Macedonia and Thrace (PB3).

“FLOOD PROTECTION” Project: The Regional Administration of Smolyan (PB7) launches construction works
The Regional Administration of Smolyan (PB7) launched the construction works implemented in the framework of the project with the acronym FLOOD PROTECTION (Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece –Bulgaria 2014-2020”), with the construction of the supporting walls in Smolyan, Zlatograd and Rudozem.

The Region of Central Macedonia (LB) and the Regional Development Fund of Central Macedonia held an Information and Awareness Event on "Tools for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship - European and Greek institutional framework", in Thessaloniki on the 29/11/2018, in the framework of the project with acronym "Action Plan for Social Entrepreneurship" (CP INTERREG V-A “GREECE-BULGARIA 2014-2020"). The main goal of the event was to disseminate and, in parallel, to support the Social Entrepreneurship and the Social and Solidarity Economy in general.

The meeting was hosted by the Lead Beneficiary, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports / General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage / Directorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities and was attended by the Project consortium, as well as by Mr Kyriakos Fotiadis, the Coordinator of the Joint Secretariat for INTERREG V-A Greece-Bulgaria 2014-2020 Cooperation Programme.

Six 1-day training seminars will be organized by the National Emergency Aid Center Directorate of Thessaloniki in six Municipalities of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (Paranesti, K.Nevrokopi, Xanthi, Myki, Iasmos and Didimoteicho)in October, aiming to the citizens’ training with regards to the basic life support, the use of the automatic external defibrillator, the recovery position and the first aid provision in emergency situations.
