The equipment is financed through the Strategic Project "Flood Protection" of the CP Interreg V-A "Greece - Bulgaria 2014 - 2020" where the Region of Central Macedonia participates.

The equipment delivered to the  2nd Special Unit for Disaster Management (EMAK) includes:
1. An outboard engine
2. Six waterproof diving suits
3. Ten buoyancy regulators
4. A 3D bottom search system
5. Personal protective equipment for ten lifeguards in rushing waters and floods

Referring to the European co-financed, cross-border project "Flood Protection" and the participation of the Region of Central Macedonia, Mr. Tzitzikostas announced a series of flood protection interventions that are implemented as part of the project: "Through the project 'Flood Protection' we strengthen the eastern embankment of Lake Kerkini in a total length of 3.7 km.
