6th Monitoring Committee meeting of the CP INTERREG VA

The 6th Monitoring Committee (MC) meeting of the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A “Greece – Bulgaria 2014-2020” took place in Sofia, on the 19th of November 2019.
The meeting was attended by the two co-chairpersons, Ms. Denitsa Nikolova - Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works of Bulgaria, Ms. Niki Dandolou - Special Secretary for ERDF, CF & ESF Programmes - Ministry of Development & Investments of Greece and Mr. Ivan Fecenko, the Desk Officer - DG Regional and Urban Policy (EC) together the rest of the members of the Monitoring Committee.
During the meeting, the Programme's financial and operational progress was presented. It is worth mentioning that the Programme is being successfully implemented as its results demonstrate, since it has already achieved the N+3 target for the year of 2019 and is in good track for achieving the target for the next year. In addition, the progress on the on- going evaluation of the project proposals received under the 5th and the 6th Calls of the Programme was also discussed. The new projects are expected to enhance the added value of the Programme in the CB area's entrepreneurship, since both Calls are under Priority Axis 01: A Competitive and Innovative Cross-Border Area.
Finally it must be noted that the presentation by Mr. Fecenko on the new programming period was received with interest by the attendees and both National Authorities are expected to start planning their activities towards drawing up the new Programme .
