EU Green week 2018

Feb 05, 2018   Brussels, Belgium

To complement the activities in Brussels, a series of events will be organized by partner organizations from across Europe. The call to become a partner and organise one of these events is now open. Proposals can be submitted until 28 February.
What is a partner event?
The scope is broad. Activities can take place at all levels (local, regional, national or European level). All kinds of events are welcome, from workshops and public discussions to awareness-raising events for families. Some examples of past events include:
Information, education or awareness-raising events;
Open Doors Days, Info Days;
Guided tours and visits;
Seminars, workshops and conferences;
Training and networking events;
Exhibitions and fairs, festivals;
Online events (e.g. webinars).
The main requirement is a link to the EU Green Week 2018 theme, which is 'Green Cities for a greener future'.
Partner events can be organised as new initiatives specifically tailored for the Green Week, but they can also be a part of already planned events - as long as they fit the overarching theme of the week.
When and where should the event take place?
Events can take place anywhere in Europe. They should be held from 21 April until 10 June 2018.
If the events are organised at the same time as Green Week (21-25 May), they may be selected and given more visibility with special highlights on the EU Green Week website and in social media.
Who should organise the event?
Any organisation can take part, such as municipal authorities, authorities in charge of the environment, businesses, associations, private companies, NGOs, research institutes, universities and technical colleges, media, groups of citizens, stakeholders in other sectors (transport, water, air quality, tourism, education, agriculture, sustainable businesses) etc.
Why become a partner?
Being an EU Green Week partner is an excellent way to showcase your contribution to Europe's transition to a greener future.
The selected events will benefit from EU-wide visibility. The events will be listed on the EU Green Week 2018 website, and the most relevant events will also be promoted on social media.
Partner events can use the official Green Week branding and will have access to a specific toolkit of promotional materials.
How to register?
See more information on the EU Green Week 2018 website, fill the application form by 28 February and wait for feedback from the event secretariat. Successful applicants will be informed by 17 March 2018.
In addition to organising a partner event, it is also possible to apply for a stand at the main venue in Brussels during the EU Green Week. The deadline for this is 5 March 2018.
