Opening Press-Conference and Kick-Off Meeting of project “MediciNet II”

The partnership consists of the General Hospital of Komotini “Sismanogleio” as Lead Beneficiary and the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment "Dr. Atanas Dafovski" AD. The partnership goal is focused on the improvement of the quality of life in the cross border area through multi-dimension interventions to the provided health services. The result of the first effort of the two hospitals was significant and that was the trigger for the preparation of the next project, which was approved and ranked among the top proposals.
MediciNet II aims to improve the effectiveness of the health care system as a whole by improving the existing and setting up new emergency service capabilities, in order to be able to encounter emergencies occurring in the cross-border area, giving special attention to socially sensitive issues such as the accessibility of isolated and deprived communities to primary and emergency health care.
On January 16th 2018, the project details were presented to the press representatives and other stakeholders by Dr. Georgios Filippidis, Chief Executive Officer of G.H. Komotini, and Dr Spas Pasev, member of the Board of Directors of the Multi-profile Hospital of Active Treatment “Dr. Atanas Dafovski” AD. In addition, among the people that participated during the opening press conference were Dr. Dimitrios Tsalikakis, Deputy Director of the 4th Health Region of Macedonia-Thrace, Mr. Achilleas Geropoulos, Chief Executive Officer of Xanthi’s General Hospital, Dr. Dimitrios Adamidis, Chief Executive Officer of Alexandroupoli’s University Hospital and representatives from local authorities and municipalities.
Following the press conference, the project’s kick-off meeting took place with participation of both partners’ project management teams aiming to organize in detail the smooth implementation of the project and maximise its results in a cross border scale.
