The main activity of this project is the creation of business councils. Each council is consisted of representatives of business and local administrations and regulators that will discuss the problems and opportunities of both sides. The council will achieve a partnership that will address the main issues that businesses face in their operations and thereby strengthen the factors affecting entrepreneurial success, promote business survival and foster an entrepreneurial culture, including new business start-ups. Useful information will be presented for each type of business, focusing on the priority sectors Agri-Food, Waste Management for Recycling or Energy, Renewable Energy and Energy Saving, Sustainable Tourism, Healthcare, Materials - Technology, Textile Industry. The objectives of this project are fully in line with the objectives of the programme, which are: removing barriers and bottlenecks for SMEs.
The main outcomes of the project are achieving a partnership between business representatives, local administrations and government agencies in order to reduce the identified constraints placed on entrepreneurs. A measurable outcome is the creation of business councils composed of business and government representatives. Once established, business councils will continue to exist and solve identical local problems. Fourteen business councils will be set up, one in each of the priority areas in Greece and Bulgaria.
